The 4 Stages of Facial Sculpting
Did you know that Facial Sculpting can and sometimes should be done in stages? I actually recommend that some patients receive facial sculpting in 4 separate sessions. I wanted my first blog to be a bit of an introduction to my methods and preferred sculpting techniques. You might not know this, but I have a background in 👩🏻🎨 art and 🖊 design. I believe that the best results aren’t rushed and that the art of beauty is a slow, methodical process. Art needs room to breathe and time to settle. The Art of Injection is no exception. I believe that the best approach to facial sculpting with natural-looking results is to fine-tune over time. I developed a 4 stage facial sculpting protocol that works well for many of my patients in Philadelphia seeking subtle enhancements over the course of 6-12 months.
Why Not Do it All at Once?
When I refer to ‘Facial Sculpting’ I’m essentially referring to a non-surgical lower face lift. Effective sculpting requires a combination of treatments to several areas of the lower face and neck. Instead of diving right in and giving you every treatment under the sun in one sitting, it’s better to air on the conservative side and address each area separately so that we give the treatment time to settle and tailor the next treatment accordingly. After dissolving the fat under the chin, you may just decide that you don’t actually need that much filler in the chin and jawline, or you may decide that you need more! This also gives you time to settle into your changing appearance and avoid the “What have you done?” questions from your friends 😆. Spacing out the treatments from 6-12 months gives you the benefit of subtle, natural results that you can begin to love every time you look in the mirror.
What Are The 4 Stages of Facial Sculpting?
Fat Dissolve: KYBELLA® 💉 for minimizing submental fat and/or jowls. First we eliminate any excess fat under the chin with 1-3 treatments of KYBELLA® injections to permanently dissolve this fat.
Anti-Wrinkles: Neurotoxins like BOTOX® ❄️ to platysmal bands of the neck. Relaxing platysmal bands tightens and smooths the skin of the neck.
Sculpting & Projection: Dermal fillers 💉 are then used to sculpt the chin and jawline to provide projection and fill out any hollows that may have formed with age as the body produces less collagen. Dermal fillers also work to stimulate collagen production to the injection areas, further enhancing the positive results.
Tightening: PDO Threads 🧵 are an effective way to tighten the skin on the lower face, upper face, and neck. PDO Threads are the last stage in facial sculpting because they are considered to be fine-tuning and work to stimulate collagen production over time to improve the appearance of skin laxity, texture and wrinkles.
Are There Any Other Benefits to Facial Sculpting in Stages?
More cost-effective 💰. Receiving treatments in stages is easier on your pocket book. It gives you more time to budget accordingly for the next set of treatments.
It gives your body the chance to heal and let each treatment settle in
